Calm the mind

When we’re stressed, we might experience racing, unhelpful and intrusive thoughts. These thoughts can lead to, or exacerbate stress. A racing mind can also impact our physical health and our ability to get to sleep, which is also important for mental health and wellbeing. 


Here are some research-backed ways to help you calm the mind:

  • Write it out - do a brain dump
  • Reframe unhelpful thoughts 
  • Deep breathing exercises
  • Practice mindfulness
  • Exercise
  • Self-care: take a bath, read a book or listen to soothing music
  • Spend time outdoors
  • Calm the body
